November 26, 2018

How fun would it be to have your gifts under the tree be wrapped in your own designs? Its actually pretty easy and quick once you create your stamps! Your creations are endless, and reusable!

What you’ll need: (I am by no means a pro, but I have found that even the beginner linocut tools are very easy to use and can still get you good details when carving)

Linocut Carving Block

Ink Roller

Blank Wrapping Paper (white or brown)

Block Printing Ink

Steps:

  1. Figure out what your design is going to be. Draw it on paper before you start carving.

  2. Transfer it to your Linocut block. You can do this just by hand or by placing your graphite drawing face down onto the block and pressing it down to transfer the image.

  3. Start carving. Remember that everything you carve is going to be the negative space, and everything you don’t carve will be your image.

  4. Ink up. Once your ink is evenly on your roller, move it carefully across your stamp to fill all the spots that you want to be black.

  5. Carefully place your stamp onto the paper and press down, evenly giving pressure to all sections so that all of your image transfers.
